Layout & Full Twist Drill

I pulled out some personal video from the 2006 TOPs Camp that Excalibur Gymnastics has been hosting in the summer for the past several years.

Here’s a layout and full twist drill as presented by the clinician – Neil Resnick.  Neil is the co-head coach for the Boise State University Broncos and the former head coach/owner of Flips Gymnastics in Reno, NV.

  2. I love this for a layout, but I’m not wild about it for a full twist. It seems to encourage a very narrow arm position, and an exaggerated hollow as well. I would much rather train my gymnasts to twist with a completely straight body and the arms out as far as they can get while still completing the twist.

    Great hip set drill promoting a late “arm pull” on the layout. Neil is the master!
